Resolved Question: Cowboy holiday from Europe?

Would like to take my Dad on a holiday through the Rockys or something. Aka cowbow territority. I know its probably cliche for alot of you but I think it would be great. Do you know of any good holiday places we could try? I am sure there must me lots of east coast American people who go on these. I am thinking along the lines of the film "City Slickers" minus Billy Crystal and the rest of the cast bar Curley. Seriously any suggestions? Would be good to take in some of those red coloured mountains which we all associate with 1870s. What location is best e.g Texas, Oregan or what? and do you know of good ranches?
